We are looking for researchers to help define the Grand Challenges for next generation cognitive assistants and cognitive computing componentry. In this section, we provide examples of challenges being worked on around the world as well as inside IBM. We invite researchers to share their interests and ideas for grand challenges in three ways: (1) submit ideas at this website (see last menu item Suggest Grand Challenges), (2) start and join discussion on our LinkedIn group, (3) join our weekly 30 minutes teleconference (details soon). Finally, we invite researchers to take our short survey if they are interested in IBM awards for projects related to building cognitive assistants for all occupations ( see ongoing collaborations), especially those who plan to use the IBM awards to submit additional grant proposals to government and foundation funding organizations.
One example: Machine learning applications will lead to new breakthroughs that will amplify human abilities, assist us in making good choices, look out for us and help us navigate our world in powerful new ways.
